Tornado Shelter Solutions

Tornado resistant openings are designed to protect occupants during short periods of high-velocity winds. Solutions appropriate for tornado shelters must combine and test both lock and door as one. The Schlage L Series includes the LM9300 multi-point lock, which when paired with a Steelcraft Paladin door, meets the stringent FEMA P-361/FEMA P-320/ICC 500 requirements, withstanding 250 mph windspeeds and 15 lb projectile impacts at 100 mph.

Hurricane Wind & Impact

Coastal regions take the brunt of hurricanes, with threats from both wind and flying debris. Hurricane wind and impact devices are tested to meet or exceed all hurricane windstorm risk categories. Their primary purpose is to not only prevent debris and wind from penetrating the assembly but also to maintain functionality after the storm. Schlage offers a range of products from electronic access control solutions to mechanical locks covering mortise, cylindrical, deadbolt and multi-point locks to meet your building's aesthetic and security while helping to keep people safe under the worst hurricane storm conditions.

Hurricane Wind-only (Non-impact)

Hurricane-resistant openings are designed to withstand storm conditions for long periods of time, but conditions vary widely depending on location. Some more inland hurricane-prone regions may not require the level of protection needed in coastal regions. This may enable a wider selection of related products like exit devices and types of doors, however, Schlage locks tests and assures a full line of products from electronic access control solutions to mechanical locks covering mortise, cylindrical, deadbolt and multi-point locks that exceed wind-only requirements to qualify equally under wind and impact conditions.

Electronic lock solutions include AD and CO Series electronic locks, Control, LE and NDE wireless electronic locks
