XE360 devices feature an interchangeable FleX Module™ that allows for communication type, memory and encryption upgrades. Choose from two connectivity options: offline via Bluetooth® or RealSync™ via Wi-Fi.

Update in real time, anytime, from anywhere, using the existing Wi-Fi network. Get the benefits of a hardwired system, without the expense. XE360 Series with RealSync requires no extra hardware, and offers persistent, cost- and battery-efficient control.

Openings that average moderate daily activity and can support a robust, commercial grade Wi-Fi connection are typically ideal candidates. A review of the suggested network requirements and setup guide is recommended to provide an optimal network for the lock to connect to.

It’s as easy as swapping the FleX Module™! Simply factory reset the lock, remove the batteries, replace the existing offline FleX Module with the RealSync enabled version, reinstall the batteries, and reconnect and recommission the lock into a Wi-Fi supported access control system.  Note that offline locks are compatible with ENGAGE™ access control software, but RealSync capable locks are not.

FleX Module Replacement

No. Locks equipped with RealSync™ can operate in real-time without any wiring, hard power, hardware like gateways/panels/hubs/door service routers, or cabling. All that is needed is the lock and connection to a Wi-Fi access point. 

Yes. You can mix and match XE360 locks, as well as other Schlage® electronic locks, on the same property and they will work on the same access control system if the provider is integrated to those locks and subsequent connectivity platform. Note that Allegion software (ENGAGE™) only supports offline connectivity. Locks using RealSync™ connectivity can only be managed via an integration from our Technology Alliances program.

No. These fully wireless locks have been designed to optimize power management with energy-efficient components and engineering, even when maintaining a constant connection. When connected to an optimized Wi-Fi network, XE360™ locks achieve a minimum 12-month battery life, far outpacing industry standards. Reference our battery life estimation chart to provide examples of common scenarios of usages to help determine what battery life you should expect.

Locks equipped with RealSync™ can provide predictive battery alerts through the integrated access control software provider. This can include features that monitor battery life and send alerts when battery levels fall below a certain threshold, allowing facilities teams the ability to address low power before it becomes critical. 

Your lock will continue to function as normal, just without a live connection, if you are using physical credentials or offline-capable NFC or BLE credentials.* There is a common misconception that the lock will stop functioning if Wi-Fi goes down temporarily. Locks maintain their full credential database within the lock so that anyone with existing access can continue to use their credentials until a lock is able to reconnect. Even when the Wi-Fi is temporarily disconnected, all audits are stored locally until the lock reconnects and resyncs with the access control software.
