What openings work best for RealSync™?

Any opening that can support a robust Wi-Fi connection is a good candidate. Review of the suggested network requirements and set up guide is needed to provide the optimal network for the lock to connect to.

How do I upgrade my XE360™ offline lock to a RealSync™ capable lock?

It’s as easy as swapping the FleX Module™! Simply remove the battery, replace the FleX Module, add the battery back, and then reconnect to the access control system via Wi-Fi.

Do XE360™ locks with RealSync™ require any additional hardware to operate?

No. Locks equipped with RealSyn can operate in real-time without any wiring, hard power, hardware like gateways/panes/hubs/door service routers, or cabling. All that is needed is the lock and Wi-Fi.

Can I have XE360™ locks with offline connectivity as well as XE360 locks with RealSync® on the same property?

Yes. You can mix and match XE360 locks, as well as other Schlage® electronic locks, on the same property and they will work on the same access control system if the provider is integrated to those locks.

Will I need to replace batteries frequently?

No. These fully wireless locks have been designed to optimize power management with energy-efficient components and engineering, even when maintaining a constant connection. When connected to an optimized Wi-Fi network, XE360™ locks achieve a minimum 12-month battery life, far outpacing industry standards. Reference our battery life estimation chart to provide examples of common scenarios of usages to help determine what battery life you should expect.

How will I know when it is time to replace batteries?

Locks equipped with RealSync™ can provide predictive battery alerts through the access control software provider. This can include features that monitor battery life and send alerts when battery levels fall below a certain threshold.

What happens if my Wi-Fi network goes down?

There is a common misconception that the lock will stop functioning if Wi-Fi goes down. Locks maintain their full credential database within the lock so that anyone with access can continue to use their credentials.
