Overview

Critical points of entry and highly sensitive areas need extra protection. Here, Schlage cylinders with added Primus features provide a "next level" upgrade of security that works within your existing Schlage key system. Even open, Classic Obverse key systems can regain patent protection and top levels of administrative and physical security anywhere Primus cylinders are applied.

Primus keys and cylinders take different paths to patent protection depending on the keyway family. For the Classic Obverse family, which includes the famous Schlage C keyway, it is the Primus RP (Raised Pin) design that carries the patent. For all Everest 29 keyway families, whether in standard or Primus XP cylinders, it is the Everest 29 patent that carries protection to the year 2029.

Security

  • Patented against unauthorized key duplication
  • Secondary, independent sidebar and finger pin locking mechanism protects against picking and bumping
  • All Primus keys are tightly controlled and have a unique, factory-milled side bitting design that is geographically defined and can be made exclusive to the user at a local or even national level
  • Optional, high-security UL 437 listed cylinders (conventional only) feature hardened steel, anti-drill pins and are confirmed under UL testing protocols as pick-resistant, drill-resistant and capable of withstanding extreme physical attacks

Convenience

  • Restricted keyways and Primus product order authorizations are managed online using the restrictedproduct.allegion.com website
  • Primus XP keys are compatible with non-Primus Everest 29 and legacy Everest cylinders that share the same keyway family
  • Utilizes six standard key cuts; no special key duplication equipment needed

Key control

  • SiteMaster 200®  software helps users set up and manage their entire key system
  • The unique factory-milled side bitting on a Primus key makes unauthorized duplication highly preventable
  • Primus can be used to upgrade legacy legacy Everest, Everest 29 or Classic Obverse key systems and regain or improve key control within the building

Construction

  • Solid brass bar stock construction and hardened stainless steel housings
  • 6-pin keying length (SL Conventional 7-pin)

Physical and administrative security

  • Upgraded security: patented Primus cylinders add a secondary, independent sidebar and finger pin locking mechanism and are available in 5 levels of geographic exclusivity
  • High security: patented Everest 29 S and T keyways additionally gain hardened steel anti-drill pins as Primus UL 437 listed cylinders (conventional cylinders only)

Application

  • Modular: conventional cylinder formats can be applied to any Schlage key-in-lever, rim or mortise need
  • Master keying in open or restricted keyways options available
  • Primus keys will work non-Primus cylinders eliminating the need for a complete re-key
