L Series Motorized Latch Retraction Lock

Quiet control is the hallmark of these L Series locks. Three functions offer latch retraction for momentary or continuous operation. Three additional functions also feature separately managed lever control. All offer the same Grade 1, fire-rated quality lock you expect from Schlage.

Overview

Latch retraction capable L Series Grade 1 locks create application opportunities across many markets whether the need is security, controlled access or hands-free operation. They can replace the need for electric strike use in a form that is more secure and aesthetically pleasing. Quiet operation makes them ideal for Health Care environments or anywhere repeat user exit and entry can become an annoyance.

Security

  • Tested and certified to ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 operational and security standards
  • UL listed for 3-hour fire door; spring-loaded fusible link inside lock case provides fail secure mode in case of fire    
  • Security blocking hub prevents lock access by removing levers
  • Lock status options include request to exit (RX) and latchbolt (LX) monitoring
  • Patented Everest 29™ S123 keyway is provided standard which prohibits unauthorized key duplication

Aesthetics

  • Activations for both latch retraction and lever control are managed by ultra-quiet motors inside the chassis
  • For lever control functions low holding current produces minimal heat, eliminating “hot levers” in electrically locking applications
  • 33 lever styles constructed of solid brass or solid stainless steel offer a strong-yet-comfortable feel
  • Additional style options include five roses and two escutcheons
  • Locking lever bushing eliminates exposed screws on inside levers
  • 12 available finishes (depending on lever style) with options for antimicrobial coating
  • All levers suite with Von Duprin exit devices, along with related products: L Series Grade 1 mortise lock, multipoint locks, and LT Series tubular locks

Installation simplicity

  • Fits the same door prep as an electrified L Series lock for easy upgrades
  • Case-mounted switch allows field selectable fail safe/fail secure setting for functions with lever control
  • Modular design allows RX feature to be added at a later time without opening the lock case
  • Field reversible latch bolt allows handing change without opening case

 

Built to Last

  • Two piece anti-friction tongue in latch bolt reduces wear
  • Breakaway spindle keeps door secured in the event of vandalism    
  • Every Schlage lock undergoes intensive testing to determine its ANSI grade level including: cycle, resistance, door impact, warped door and bolt strength tests 
  • 10-year mechanical warranty, 3-year electro-mechanical (see warranty for full terms)

All locks featuring lever control are field selectable Electrically Locked (EL) or Electrically Unlocked (EU).
